Development Review Committee Information

The Development Review Committee (DRC) is a staff-level committee made up of County staff representing various departments and agencies that have a responsibility for reviewing plans or providing services to proposed development. A preliminary review of each application received by the submission deadline will be completed in order to determine if a DRC review will be required. When required, applicants are encouraged to attend this meeting.

DRC meetings are generally held in the Administrative Complex located at 66 Captain Matthew Freeman Drive, or virtually via Teams Meeting. These meetings typically take place between the hours of 9:00 am and 12:00 pm, with 30-minute time slots allotted for discussion of each application. DRC meetings are scheduled by staff. Once an application is determined to be complete, an email will be sent notifying an applicant of their meeting time and location.

General Meeting Information

Beginning February 2021, the Planning and Zoning Commission will meet on the third Tuesday of every month. The Planning Commission also serves as the Board of Adjustment, which hears variances and appeals. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and location alternates between Pembroke and Richmond Hill.

• The Pembroke meetings will be held in the Commissioners Meeting Room located at 42 N. Courthouse Street in Pembroke.
• The Richmond Hill meetings are held in the Commissioners Hearing Room (Second Floor) in the Administrative Complex on Capt. Matthew Freeman Drive, Richmond Hill.

For any matter scheduled for a public hearing, public comment is permitted. A Speaker Form must be filled out prior to the meeting and submitted to staff. You may fill out the form in advance and submit to dmonaco@bryancountyga.gov or fill out and hand into staff the night of the meeting.

If a person does not want to/cannot attend in person, they may submit comments via email to Dawn Monaco at dmonaco@bryancountyga.gov. Comments must be received by noon on the day of the meeting, to be read into the record.

Meetings are conducted in accordance with the County's Unified Development Ordinance Section 114-219 and the Planning and Zoning Commission Bylaws.
