Apply for a Georgia weapons carry license
Bryan County residents age 21 and older apply through the Probate Court. A new license is $79.00 and a renewal is $30.00; licenses are valid for five years.

- How long it takes:
- Licenses are valid for five years; issuance waits on the background reports.
How it works
- Complete the online application; it is saved for 10 days.
- Visit the Probate Court between 8:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with identification and documents.
- Be fingerprinted for the criminal and mental health record checks.
- The license is issued once the required reports come back. Renew up to three months before expiration.
What you need
- Age 21 or older and a Bryan County resident.
- A Georgia driver’s license or state ID showing your current Bryan County address (two proofs of address if your license lists a P.O. Box).
- Born outside the U.S.: certified birth certificate or passport; naturalized citizens: naturalization certificate and INS number.
- Military without a Georgia license: orders plus one document showing your Bryan County address.
