Get a marriage license
Apply online, then both applicants visit the Probate Court in Pembroke or Richmond Hill with photo ID. The license costs $77, or $37 with premarital counseling.

- How long it takes:
- Licenses are issued 8:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, excluding holidays.
How it works
- Complete the online application; it stays on file for 10 days.
- Call the Pembroke or Richmond Hill office to schedule an appointment.
- Both applicants appear in person with photo ID and proof of age, signed in before 4:30 p.m.
- If either of you was married before, bring the divorce or annulment decree for the most recent marriage.
- The Probate Judge does not perform wedding ceremonies.
What you need
- Photo identification and proof of age for both applicants; applicants must be at least 17, and 17-year-olds must be emancipated.
- A certified copy of the decree dissolving any previous marriage.
- Premarital education certificate, if claiming the reduced fee.
- Either applicant must be a Georgia resident, or the ceremony must take place in Bryan County.
