Get an encroachment permit for a driveway, culvert, or utility
Any work in the County right-of-way — a new driveway, a culvert, or a utility line — needs an encroachment permit before work starts. Apply online; residential permits are $35.

- Cost:
- $35 for residential driveways and culverts; $100 for commercial driveways and culverts; no fee for utilities.
- How long it takes:
- Permits are generally reviewed within two weeks of submittal.
How it works
- Apply through the permit portal before doing any work in the right-of-way.
- The Public Works Director and Engineering Director review the permit; a traffic impact assessment may be required for larger projects.
- Do the work after approval, then Public Works or Engineering inspects that the site is restored.
