Renew your business license

Business licenses expire December 31. Renew online from mid-October; renewals completed after February 1 pay a 1.5% penalty per month, and after July 31 a new application is required.

Renew on the licensing portalLeaves the county website.

Cost:
$75 non-refundable application fee plus the annual occupation tax (0–3 employees $115 up to 50 or more employees $795). Late renewals after February 1 add 1.5% per month.
How long it takes:
Renewals open mid-October; complete by February 1 to avoid penalties; not eligible after July 31.

How it works

  1. Gather the Private Employer Affidavit (if 11 or more employees), your employee count for unincorporated Bryan County, and confirmation that business personal property taxes are current.
  2. Sign in to the licensing portal with the email on file (contact the department if it is not found).
  3. Submit the renewal; you will be emailed an invoice for the occupation tax and the $75 application fee. Do not send payment before the invoice.
  4. Pay online, then download and print the license from the email and display it at the business.

What you need

  • Private Employer Affidavit for 11 or more employees.
