Respond to a jury summons
Every registered voter or licensed driver 18 and older in Bryan County can be summoned. Call the jury status line the day before your date, and use the excuse affidavit if you qualify for a deferral or excusal.
- Cost:
- No cost. Jurors are paid $35 for each day they serve or report.
How it works
- Read the summons for your report date and time.
- The day before, call the Jury Status Line at 912-653-3872, option 7, for final instructions.
- To request a deferral or excusal (military service, age, residency, medical reasons), follow the summons instructions and submit the Jury Duty Excuse Affidavit well before your date.
- Dress appropriately — no tank tops, shorts, slogan shirts, torn denim, or bare feet.
