Vote by mail (absentee ballot)

Any registered voter can vote by mail without giving a reason. Apply online or on paper up to 78 days before the election; the completed ballot must reach the Elections office by 7:00 p.m. on election night.

How it works

  1. Apply online or with the paper application up to 78 days before the election. Voters 65 and older or with a disability can ask to receive ballots for the whole election cycle.
  2. Ballots are mailed 25–29 days before election day.
  3. Return the ballot by mail or at a drop box: the Richmond Hill Recreation Complex, 508 Timber Trail, during early voting hours, or the Elections office during office hours.
  4. Military and overseas voters (UOCAVA) apply through the state portal or FVAP.gov; their ballots must be postmarked by election day and received by the Friday after.
