File a property tax return
Property owners may declare their property’s value and report changes each year between January 1 and April 1. If you do not file, the County treats last year’s status and value as correct.
- How long it takes:
- January 1 – April 1 each year. The deadline cannot be extended.
How it works
- Download the Property Tax Return form, or ask the Tax Assessor for one.
- Report your opinion of value and any changes made to the property in the previous year.
- Business, aircraft, and marine personal property owners file the matching personal property return.
- Deliver the return to the Tax Assessor by April 1.
- Your assessment notice in May or June is the answer to your return; you then have 45 days to appeal.
