Board of Tax Assessors
Determines which property in the county is taxable and sets its value, examines and corrects returns, and hears the first stage of assessment appeals. The board is independent of the Commissioners, the Tax Commissioner, and the Board of Education; it does not set millage rates or collect taxes.
When it meets
Second Tuesday of each month, noon, alternating between Richmond Hill (Administration Building, Commissioners Meeting Room, Suite 224) and Pembroke (Assessors Office, 15 North Courthouse Street).
